Public Works Laborer I is needed for a Sandy municipality to perform skilled work pertaining to perform heavy physical activity doing snow removal, clean-up and maintenance activities for the streets division. Qualifications: 6 Months technical training in equipment operation, construction or related area preferred; Commercial Drivers License may be required. 6 Mnths closely related work background; may substitute additional background for required education. Knowledge of Tools, machines, and equipment used in the maintenance and clean up of City parks, streets and irrigation systems; OSHA safety standards; general construction practice and procedures. Moderate responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment, and, tools. Operates pavement equipment, miscellaneous hand tools, and one-ton up to and including a ten-wheel dump truck. Must pass drug test before hire. Seasonal position.
