Mechanic, Manufacturing, second shift Opening for a mechanic to repair and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing machinery on our second shift. Essential responsibilities: Engaged in repairing a variety of plant production equipment primarily involved in metal working operations, assembly and related functions such as heat treating, packing and other mechanical processes. Must diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs, tear down and reassemble machines. May require precision fitting of components such as spindles and bearings. Performs all required operations and distribution equipment for air, water, oil, and steam. Must have the expertise to layout, construct and install a variety of machine guards, hoods, bases, ducts, vents, and other similar metal work. Use equipment such as arc and acetylene systems, spot welders, threading and cutoff machines, along with a variety of hand and portable power tools. Performs a normal range of plumbing and equipment and plant systems. Maintains and repairs various pneumatic and hydraulic distribution and control elements for high and low pressure. Duties include cleaning machines and equipment; painting machines, equipment and building areas; operation of lift trucks and tractors; removal of snow and assisting in all areas of maintenance. Detects and reports unusual conditions or material to the proper authority. Maintains work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition. Maintains heating, cooling and sprinkler systems. Checks boilers daily, maintaining proper fluid levels and chemicals. Performs related duties as assigned in the machine repair and maintenance function or as occasion may demand.
