Description:

My client is a focused company - focused heavily on public sector business for 20+ years. They continue to expand their base of business and may start to include commercial soon as well. With a strong base of clients in place already, they have a need for strong "hunter" Account Executive in Central Maryland (Baltimore, Columbia, Rockville area) to step in and continue to cultivate and grow the business - some of which is already in place - while also developing new opportunities. This is a solid company with an excellent culture and a great team. We need to find someone with solid public sector sales experience (highly desirable but not absolute), a stable job history (a MUST-have) with lots of connections in the public sector and/or commercial markets. This a virtual office role so requires someone who can work without hand-holding and still be motivated to get out and make things happen. You'll be selling a range of best-of-breed hardware, software and services solutions that may include some staff augmentation as well. Since the role will require travel throughout the state, a company car (yes! - a company car is included!) is part of the package as is a solid base salary and uncapped commission plan. Their very complete product suite includes names like Microsoft, EMC, Juniper, Dell, VMWare, Cisco and more. Here's what we need to see in the way of skills and experience:
*3-5+ years of Reseller/VAR and IT solutions selling to public sector accounts; or both commercial and public
*Solid experience selling storage solutions, network security, wireless and infrastructure solutions
*Certifications and/or expertise in EMC, Juniper, Cisco would be a major plus
*Proficient at prospecting, cold calling, up-selling, presenting/demonstrating, follow-up, and closing
*SALES experience is a MUST - working for an end-user client is NOT the right background for this role
*Must be able to multi-task, roll with the punches and go with the flow... can't think of another cliché here
*Ability to travel extensively in a defined geographical territory - that's the reason for the car
*4-year college degree is also expected unless we can show solid work experience to augment that need Comp plan includes a base salary in the $75K to $85K+ range with an uncapped commissions target - $115K+ - $125K+ all-in. My client will also consider providing a non-recoverable draw (can earn in excess) as a ramp up plan. Some on the team are already going way beyond those numbers - $175K to $200K+ - so it's not a pipe dream. Aside from the company car, there are other solid benefits including a profit sharing program that is excellent.
